    JOHNSTON CITY — Betty D. (Litton) Franklin, 78, of Wilmington and a former resident of Johnston City, passed away at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, April 10, 2016, in Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin.   Betty was born March 22, 1938, in Johnston City to Thomas and Katherine (McCormick) Litton. She married Robert Joe Franklin Sr. on June 7, 1958, in Johnston City. Together they have shared nearly 58 years of marriage.   Betty was a homemaker and always enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Church of God in Wilmington.   She enjoyed listening to Jimmy Swaggart and doing word search puzzles.   Betty is survived by her husband, Robert of Wilmington; three children, Robert (Lori) Franklin, Jr of Wheaton, Tim (Mary) Franklin of Yorkville and Kathy Cartwright of Johnston City; seven grandchildren, Brandon Schweickert, Bobby Ledger, Christina Schwickert, Nichole (Andre) Balderas, Alicia Schweickert, Trisha Franklin and Thomas Cartwright; seven great-grandchildren, Destini, Brendan and Lexi Schweickert, Isiah and Nevah Fore, Phoenix Cartwright and Octavio Balderas; four brothers, Ralph (Janet) Litton of Marion, Ronnie (Brenda) Litton of Johnston City, Randy (Lydia) Litton of Phoenix, Ariz., Larry (Cheri) Litton of Johnston; uncle and aunts, Robert (Joy) McCormick of West Frankfort, Mildred Marks of West Frankfort and Betty Kristoff of Lick Creek.   She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ricky and Tommy Litton Jr., three aunts, Helen Davenport, Virginia Masters, Jewell Wright, four uncles, Raymond, Ralph, Earl and Thomas McCormick, and a niece, Sherry Lynn Litton.   Private family services will be conducted at a later date.
