    Lucinda Berdean Henderson Ferguson Vaughn, 105, resident of Arleta, California, formerly of Cairo, died February 13, 2017 in Arleta. She was born January 29, 1912 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to William H. and Lula E. Leatherwood Henderson.


    She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. She joined the Shady Grove AME Church where she grew up. After moving to Cairo, she united with Martin Temple CME Church. Later, she joined First Central M.B. Church where her husband was the Pastor. Upon moving to Detroit, Michigan, she united with St. Matthew M.B. Church.

    Lucinda is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Nathaniel B. Ferguson, Jr. of Arleta, Willie Joe and Lela Vaughn of Detroit, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.

    Friends may call Friday, February 24, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 11:00 a.m. at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston with Pastor Arthur Cassell officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
